York FD Parade 2017

by Maria on June 13th, 2017

It was a comfortable evening, and the forecast called for a chance of thunderstorms, but everything was fine for the parade.

Jon carried one end of the banner with one hand and pulled a wagon with his younger son, AJ, with his other hand. His older son, James carried the other end of the banner with both hands.

Peyton marched along with our canine unit: Petunia and Attila.

Tara and Tracey played flute, and Kelly played clarinet. Jack played tenor sax and Maria played alto sax.

We had a whole row of trumpets: Doug. Mike B., Tom J. and Bob. There were no trombones, but Anya covered most of the trombone parts on the baritone horn. Josh, who graduated from York High School, played sousaphone.

Scott M. played snare drum; Andy played bass drum; Nancy and Kristen played cymbals.

Our next parade is the Spencerport Fire Department Parade on Thursday. See you there!

Update: We took first place for Best Drum Corps. The judges had some very nice comments about sounding good so early in the season.
