Cal-Mum Youth Baseball Parade 2015

by Maria on May 3rd, 2015

What a day in sports! American Pharoah won the Kentucky Derby, American Floyd Mayweather beat Filipino Manny Pacquiao, and Cal-Mum Youth Baseball had its opening day parade and ceremony. The high school band led the parade. They were followed by all of the teams in their colorful matching t-shirts. Kelley's Heroes brought up the rear.

Steve, who normally plays alto sax, made his debut on snare drum after only one lesson with Don S.. Andy provided a strong foundation on the bass drum.

We welcomed a new member, Laural, on bass clarinet. Don H. marched for the first time since his motorcycle accident. Heidi couldn't march because her store, The Village Florist, was open, but she was out in front cheering for her boys as they marched by with the high school band and for Kelley's Heroes as we marched by.

At the ceremony, Matt Trost, the high school band director, conducted as the high school band and Kelley's Heroes combined to play The Star-Spangled Banner.

Our next event is tomorrow as we play for Honor Flight at the Rochester International Airport.
