Another Hot One: Chil-E-Fest

by Maria on July 5th, 2012

The heat wave continues. With temperatures hovering around 90 degrees, the Chili Fire Department was very conscientious about checking on parade participants and generously provided bottled water.

Still, the heat was more than some could withstand. Can you identify these poor suffering souls? Thanks to Kelly for this photo.
Pully's grandson, Brett, carried the banner along with his friend, Lucas. Pully's daughter, Brenda, and her husband, Matt, marched along beside them under the sweltering sun.

Harold debuted his new P-Bone, a trombone made of red and black plastic. It sounds like a regular trombone, but it is very lightweight and weighs about 2 pounds, which is very handy for carrying in hot weather parades.

We also welcomed a new member, Rob, who is a trumpet player, 2011 Cal-Mum graduate and current RIT student. If you would like to join Kelley's Heroes band or color guard, visit our homepage and click on Join.

Look for us at our next event Saturday, July 14 at 11 am in LeRoy for the Oatka Fest Parade.
